2018 Volkswagen Jetta
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

2018 Volkswagen Jetta Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

A driving school owner with a lot over near Hollywood Beach in Oxnard called me one morning. He ran a fleet of training vehicles and his instructors had been sharing keys between cars for weeks. The system had broken down completely -- wrong key going home with the wrong instructor, cars sitting in the morning because nobody could find the right fob.

He had already called the dealer. The quote he got was per key, per car, and they wanted each vehicle brought in on separate days. Three cars meant three separate trips and three days with a training car idle. That math does not work for anyone running a schedule.

I drove to his lot and set up in the parking area. Did all three 2018 Jettas back to back. Each one got its own key cut to the blade profile on my machine, a fresh transponder chip enrolled through OBD individually, and a full function test -- lock, unlock, every button on the fob, blade out and in. No cross-pairing, no shortcuts. I kept the jobs clean and separate so there was zero chance of one fob touching the wrong car's memory.

Three cars, one visit, done before his first student of the day arrived. He labeled each key to a VIN on the spot and the instructor shuffle stopped that morning. The dealer comparison came up as an afterthought when he was signing off. He said something about what they quoted him and shook his head. I just packed up the machine.
