If someone sold you a generic or mismatched unit, programming it will not work and I will tell you that before wasting your time. 2000 Audi S4 Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

I was up in the Hillsides area of Ventura on a weeknight when a call came in from a woman staying nearby. She was an attorney, visiting from out of town, and her only key to her 2000 Audi S4 had gone dark after a battery swap she tried herself in the hotel room.

She had bought a replacement battery but grabbed the wrong size. When she pushed it in anyway, the contacts bent inward. The fob would not lock, unlock, or do anything. She called the Audi dealer and they told her to tow the car in and plan on two business days minimum before anyone would even look at it. She had a court appearance the next morning.

Both contacts had bent toward each other. I straightened them, checked the board for any cracked solder points, seated a correct CR2032, and closed it back up.

Then I verified the key still communicated with the car the way it should. Locks, unlock, all four buttons, and the ignition. Everything came back. No new programming needed, no tow, no two-day wait.

She made her court appearance. The dealer never got the call back.
