A software engineer at his office in the Telephone Road commercial area in Ventura watched his only Audi key drop through a storm drain grate. Gone. He could hear it land.

I plugged my programmer into the OBD-II port and pulled the Immobilizer 3 data from the instrument cluster. Read the existing key slots, set up a new Megamos 48 transponder, and programmed it into the system. Cut the key blade to the HU66 profile on the van, then paired the 315 MHz remote side, FCC ID MYT8Z0837231, all four buttons.
Tested lock, unlock, trunk, and panic. Started the engine twice to make sure the immobilizer handshake was clean. He walked back inside with the new key in his pocket and made his 3pm demo. His car never left the parking spot.
