2009 Audi S4 Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

Saturday afternoon near Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura, a woman was standing next to her 2009 Audi S4 in a small lot behind an art gallery. She had one key that was falling apart, the flip blade loose, the housing cracked along the seam. She wanted a spare before the original died completely.

I pulled the key apart on her hood so she could see what we were working with. Megamos 48 chip, TP25 variant, sitting in the original 4F0 837 220 housing. The flip blade had play because one of the tiny spring pins was half-sheared. I used my VVDI Key Tool to generate a new Megamos 48 chip onto a blank, then wrote it through the OBD port so the instrument cluster accepted it as a registered key. Cut the HU66 blade on site.

Then the part that actually matters: testing. Lock, unlock, trunk. Flip blade snapping open and closed with the right tension. Engine start. Engine off. Walked both keys back to back to make sure the immobilizer recognized each one clean, no hesitation on crank.

She kept turning the new key over in her hand like she expected a catch. There was not one. The whole thing took about 40 minutes, and her car never left the lot.
