An architect in the Ventura County Fairgrounds area of Ventura called me from a parking garage. Her 2007 S4 was on the third sub-level and the dealer had told her to get the car towed in. The tow company took one look at the clearance and the tight spiral ramps and said no.
So she was stuck. No working key, no way to move the car, and a dealer that needed the car to come to them before they would even start the VIN authorization process.
I drove into the garage, parked one level up, and walked down with my VVDI2 and a blank flip key. The B7 S4 uses the same VAG immobilizer platform as the rest of the group, so I read the component security bytes through the OBD port, pulled the immobilizer PIN from the J518 module, and generated a new ID48 chip value matched to her car. Cut the HU66 blade on my mobile machine, dropped a fresh CR2032 into the 4F0 837 220 housing, and programmed the remote via the VVDI2's key learning routine.
Tested the remote lock and unlock from across the garage, verified the flip blade turned the ignition, and watched the immobilizer light on the dash drop out clean.
Her car never left that parking spot. The whole thing took about 40 minutes. The dealer had quoted days of lead time just to get a blank authorized through Audi, and that was before the tow problem. She got a working key right there on P3 for a fraction of what they wanted.
