2020 Buick Envision
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

2020 Buick Envision Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

I got a call from a guy over in Sunset Hills, right off the edge of Thousand Oaks near the hillside where the streets dead-end into the open space. He had just closed on a used 2020 Buick Envision from a private seller.

One key total. The seller told him to get a spare made soon, which is exactly the kind of advice people give right before they hand over the paperwork and disappear.

He called the dealer first. The number they quoted him sent him to Google, which is how he found me.

I pulled up to his driveway with the car sitting right there. Five-button proximity fob, CR2032 inside, the emergency blade tucked in the release slot. I decoded the blade profile on his original key, cut a matching spare, then ran the programming sequence through the OBD port with my diagnostic tool. The whole job took less than forty-five minutes including the walk-around where I tested every function: passive lock, passive unlock on both front handles, the start button reading both fobs, and all five buttons responding correctly.

He held both fobs and did that thing people do where they click the same button three times in a row just to feel it work. Satisfied. The dealer quote became an afterthought pretty fast when the spare was already in his hand.
