2023 Buick Envision Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A guy in Westlake Village called me on a Tuesday afternoon. He was parked in the lot near his office in Thousand Oaks, had a meeting in an hour, and his Envision was sitting there telling him it couldn't find a key. The fob was in his hand. He'd already tried holding it against the start button, which sometimes coaxes a low-battery fob into working. Nothing.
I asked him when he last changed the battery. Long pause.
By the time I pulled into the lot he was standing next to the car looking at the fob like it owed him an apology. I popped it open and the CR2450 inside was original from the factory. Three years of use, probably sat in a hot car through a few California summers. It wasn't dead, but it was low enough to confuse the system.
Fresh battery, confirmed the fob was pairing correctly, walked every button. Lock, unlock, the remaining three. Everything came back.
He mentioned he'd called a shop earlier that morning and they told him it might be a security module issue and quoted him a number that made him wince. Sometimes the fix is just the battery.
He made his meeting.
