A tattoo artist near Downtown Fillmore area flagged me down at his apartment breezeway. His 2001 Stratus remote had a cracked shell, the plastic split around the buttons, barely holding together with a strip of electrical tape. Then I used my Y159 Lishi to decode his driver door cylinder and cut a new blade matched to the existing code. The old blade had worn edges that were already giving him trouble getting into the cylinder smooth.
After the swap I walked every button at range: lock, unlock, trunk, panic. Then key-in-ignition start, watching the SKIM light on the cluster. It flickered on, went out after two seconds like it should, engine turned right over. No reprogram needed because the original transponder and board never changed.
He got a solid remote and a clean-cut blade for a fraction of what the dealer wanted, and he never left his building.
