2009 Infiniti Ex35 Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

A restaurant owner near the Madera Hills neighborhood in Simi Valley had been wrestling his 2009 Infiniti EX35 ignition for weeks. He would wiggle the emergency insert key, force it, sometimes wait a full minute before the cylinder would turn. The dealer told him new cylinder, new key, full reprogram.

I drove out and looked at the lock. The cylinder was not dead. The wafers inside were worn down, which is common on the Nissan-family lock cylinders in these older Infiniti models, especially when people hang a heavy keychain off the fob. The brass wafers lose their spring tension and start catching instead of dropping clean.

I used my ACDP to pull the IMMO data from the BCM (28590 module) as a backup before touching anything. Then I decoded the lock, swapped the worn wafers, and cut a fresh NSN14 blade matched to the repaired cylinder. His Intelligent Key remote, the KR55WK48903, paired right back up through OBD. I showed him the old wafers so he could see the wear pattern himself.

Ignition turns smooth now, key slides in clean. He kept his original cylinder and his original fob. Nothing got replaced that was not actually broken, and the whole thing cost him a fraction of what the dealer wanted.
