2012 Infiniti Ex35 Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I got a call from a retired executive out near Village at the Park in Camarillo. He had a 2012 EX35 and one of his two fobs had stopped working.
The other was on its way out too, and he'd already called the Infiniti dealer. The dealer told him the key had to be ordered, then brought in for programming. The nearest Infiniti store was well over an hour each way, and he wasn't driving out there twice for a key.
He asked if I'd come to him. I told him I was already in the area that week.
I pulled up to his place and he met me outside. The car was sitting in his driveway, fully accessible. I connected through the OBD port, pulled the PIN, and registered a new fob on site. Then I cut the emergency insert blade so he'd have a physical backup if the fob battery ever went completely flat. Tested all four buttons, walked both doors, confirmed the touch-unlock sensors on both handles were responding.
He watched the whole thing from about three feet away. When both fobs were working, he said he half expected me to tell him the car needed to go somewhere.
It didn't. The whole job was done in his driveway. The dealer route would have meant towing or a long drive each direction, plus waiting on a parts order. For someone out in Camarillo, mobile isn't just convenient. It's the only version of this job that makes sense.
