Cathedral Oaks is one of those neighborhoods where the streets are wide and quiet and people actually know their neighbors. A woman there called me about a 2018 Jeep Compass. She had one working key and wanted a spare before she didn't.

She found me the same way a lot of people do. Not through an ad. Through a review that was specific enough to be believable. The Compass uses a five-button smart fob with a mechanical blade folded inside for emergencies. The job on these is not a plug-and-play. The vehicle security system needs to be accessed through the OBD port, the new fob gets enrolled as a recognized key, and the blade gets cut to match the door and ignition. I do all of that on site.

Yes, and it's one of the more involved jobs on this vehicle but completely doable on site. All-keys-lost on a 2018 Compass means the vehicle security system has no registered fobs left to verify against. We connect professional programming equipment to the OBD port, establish the security access the job requires, wipe the old key memory, and enroll new fobs from scratch. Any lost fobs get erased in that process so they can't start the car even if someone finds them later. Expect the job to take somewhere between 45 minutes and an hour and a half depending on how the security handshake goes. The programming itself is fast once access is established.
