Down in Mission San Buenaventura, a nurse practitioner had the classic 2021 Compass problem: "Key Fob Not Detected" on the dash, doors wouldn't lock with the handle button, had to use the emergency blade like it was 2005.
She'd already tried a new CR2032 from CVS. Still nothing. The Jeep dealer wanted her to drop it off for three days minimum because they had to order the M3N-40821302 fob from their warehouse. Plus the tow.
I tested her fob voltage right there in the hospital parking lot: 2.6V on a "new" battery. These proximity fobs drain faster than people expect, and cheap batteries sometimes arrive half-dead. Swapped in a quality CR2032, cleaned the terminals, checked voltage at 3.1V.
But that only solved half the problem. Her spare fob had been in a drawer for two years and needed resyncing to the RF Hub. Connected through the secured gateway with my Autel IM608, cleared the stored faults, resynced both fobs to the RF Hub module. Both fobs working, passive entry restored, no three-day dealer wait.
She asked what the dealer would have charged. I just said she saved enough to cover a couple months of that hospital parking permit.
