Got a call from someone near the Carpinteria Valley Museum in Carpinteria. Their 2007 Range Rover would not start. The dash kept cycling "Key Code Not Accepted" and then going dark. They had already called the dealer down in Santa Barbara and were told it would be a tow plus a week wait for a diagnostic appointment before they would even order a key.
When I pulled up, the owner was sitting on the curb scrolling through L322 forums on her phone, reading horror stories about fried KVM modules and dead CAN bus networks. She looked up and said, "Please tell me you have done one of these before."
I checked the vehicle battery first. It was reading 11.6 volts. Low enough to cause weird module behavior on these L322s, which is a known thing. Jumped the battery, let it stabilize, and the existing key started communicating with the KVM again. But she still needed a spare because her second key had been missing for months.
Cut the flip key blade to the HU101 profile, programmed the ID46 chip through the OBD port, synced the remote buttons. Tested lock, unlock, trunk release, and engine start. Everything talked to the KVM the way it should.
The whole thing took about 25 minutes. She was back on the road with two working keys and no tow truck involved.
