Got a Saturday afternoon call from a guy near Shoreline Park in Santa Barbara. His 2011 Range Rover was parked on the street, and when he walked up, the passive entry handles did nothing. Turned out his main battery was original, over four years old, and the California heat had cooked it. He thought he needed two new smart keys. He needed a battery, the one under the hood, not the one in the fob.
Told him to get the 12V replaced that week. He drove off with both keys working and money still in his pocket.
