2005 Lexus SC Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
She was at a wine bar near Stearns Wharf when her clutch purse got lifted from the back of her chair. Keys, ID, cards, all of it gone. She borrowed a phone, called the police, then her husband, then me.
Her 2005 Lexus SC was sitting in the lot with zero keys in the world. Her husband had already called the Lexus dealer. They told him the car would need to be towed in, the wait was four to five business days, and they were recommending a full reset of the vehicle security system. The estimate they gave him was not a small number.
I got there that evening. When all keys are lost after a theft, the first priority is wiping the key memory completely so the stolen fob is electronically dead to the car. I cleared the old key data through the diagnostic port, registered two new remote head keys from scratch, and cut the blade on each one to match the door and ignition. She had both fobs in her hand before the officer called her back about the police report.
She drove home that night. The dealer's plan would have meant a tow, nearly a week without the car, and a bill that was a significant chunk more than what she paid me. The stolen fob cannot start that SC. That part mattered most to her.
