2011 Lincoln MKX Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Out near the Blanchard Community area in Santa Paula, a guy with a 2011 Lincoln MKX had zero keys. All-keys-lost on a push-to-start Lincoln. No visible key slot on the column, no way to even wake the car up. He had already called two shops and both told him it was a dealer-only tow situation.
It is not.
I drove out with my IM608, a Ford all-keys-lost bypass cable for the gateway module, and a pair of new 164-R8092 smart fobs. First thing, I used my HU101 Lishi to pick and decode the driver door lock. That gave me the cuts for the emergency insert blade hidden inside the fob housing.
Then the real work. I connected to the OBD-II port with the bypass cable holding power stable to the BCM so the PATS module would cooperate during the all-keys-lost reset. The body control module wiped every old fob registration. I placed each new M3N-5WY8609 into the backup start slot on the center console, one at a time, while the system wrote the new 80-bit transponder codes.
Both fobs registered. Tested lock, unlock, trunk, panic, remote start. Walked every door handle for the Intelligent Access proximity detection. Started the engine twice from outside, twice from the backup slot.
His MKX was running in a parking lot in Santa Paula for a fraction of what the dealer wanted, and nobody had to tow anything anywhere.
