I was out near the Limoneira groves on a Tuesday night when the call came in. A night janitor in a Santa Paula parking structure, 10:30 pm, no key to his 2007 MKZ and no idea where to start.

Both keys tested clean. Lock, unlock, all three buttons, blade in the ignition. Done under fluorescent garage lights by 11:45 pm.
He said the dealer had quoted him over the phone and he almost hung up at the number. What he paid me was a fraction of that, and I came to him, at night, same evening.
