She was sitting at a patio near the Santa Paula Theater Center when her purse got grabbed off the back of her chair. Keys, wallet, phone, everything. She borrowed a friend's phone and called the police, then her husband, then me.
Her 2008 Lincoln MKZ was parked in the lot with zero keys. The dealer told her husband to tow it in, quoted three to five business days, and recommended a full PATS key erase since the stolen remote head key could still start the car. The combined estimate made her husband go quiet on the phone for a few seconds.
I got out there that evening. All-keys-lost after a theft means I wipe the entire PATS key memory so every old fob is electronically dead. I used my IM608 to access the PCM, cleared the 80-bit transponder codes, and programmed two new CWTWB1U793 remote head keys from scratch. Decoded the door with my HU101 Lishi, cut both emergency blades on site.
Both keys starting the car, both remotes locking and unlocking, trunk release working. Done before the police even called back with an update.
She drove home that night. The stolen key can still physically turn the door lock if someone tried the blade, but the PATS immobilizer will reject the transponder and the engine will not crank. That part mattered to her more than anything else I said.
