I transferred the board and chip into a fresh aftermarket shell, same dimensions, same button spacing, same battery tray for the dual CR2025 stack. Then I cut a new HU101 emergency blade with my Lishi tool so she had a clean insert key that actually seated properly.
Tested every button at range. Checked push-button start. Checked the passive entry on both front doors and the trunk. All good.
She stood there holding the new shell like she was waiting for something to go wrong. Nothing did. The whole job took about twenty minutes, and she kept her original programmed electronics. A fraction of what the dealer wanted, and she never left the driveway.
