A property manager in Montecito, over near Montecito Peak Trail, called me about his 2015 Lincoln MKZ. He needed a spare. His only working fob was getting flaky and he wanted a backup before it died completely.

The 2015 MKZ runs Ford's second-generation PATS with Intelligent Access, so the new fob has to handshake through the BCM using 128-bit AES before it registers. Once the security clears, the M3N-A2C31243300 wrote in clean. Cut the emergency insert blade on site.
Then the part that actually matters: testing. Proximity unlock on the driver handle, passenger handle, push-button start, trunk release from the button and from the fob, and lock-on-walk-away. All five buttons, full range around the car.
He stood there watching me walk circles around his MKZ pressing door handles and just said "that's it?" Thirty minutes, no tow, no waiting room. A fraction of what they wanted at the dealer, and he never left his building.
