Out in Pacific View, a guy had been running on a single Leaf fob since he bought the car. He knew he should get a spare, kept putting it off, and then one afternoon the fob just stopped being recognized. He walked out to his car, grabbed the door handle, nothing. Tried again. Key-not-detected warning on the dash. He still had the physical insert key to get in, but the car would not start.

Re-registered the fob, walked all four buttons, tested the door handle proximity unlock, confirmed push-button start. Car woke right up.
He asked if I could add a second fob while I was already in the system. I had a matching unit in the van, cut the blade on site, registered it alongside the first one, and tested both. He had a spare for the first time since he bought the car.
The dealer would have wanted him to schedule an appointment, potentially wait days, and pay a significant amount more. He was back inside his house in about 45 minutes.
