Wrote the new transponder ID into the system, confirmed both the old key and the new one started the car. Three clean starts each.
He stood there holding both keys like he finally had a backup plan again. No drama. No tow to the Porsche dealer. No two-week wait for a key to be ordered from Germany and then another appointment to get it programmed.
He said he'd been quoted a long wait and a steep number by the dealer. This took me about 40 minutes in his driveway.
