A trail runner out near College Park in Oxnard lost his only key somewhere on a canyon trail. He backtracked over a mile, asked other runners, checked every pocket twice. Nothing. I picked the HU66 lock with my Lishi tool and got inside. On the 987.2, the all-keys-lost procedure stays OBD-based. I connected through the diagnostic port, pulled the immobilizer data from the KESSY module, calculated the PIN, and generated a new key file. Cut a fresh HU66 blade, programmed the Hitag2 transponder, synced the 315 MHz remote. Then did the same thing again for a spare because I was not letting this guy walk out of here with one key twice.
He sat on a trailhead bench watching me work on the hood of his Boxster. When the engine turned over, he just looked at the dash for a second like he did not trust it yet. Fair enough.
The dealer quoted him a wait for a VIN-cut key shipped from Germany, plus a tow out of a trailhead that no flatbed was reaching quickly. I had him driving in under two hours, right there in the dirt lot, for a fraction of what they wanted.
