A guy out there had a 2015 Boxster and a key that had been bending slightly every time he pulled it from the ignition. He kept meaning to deal with it. One morning it snapped. Not all the way, but enough that the remaining piece turned in the cylinder without catching, and the broken tip stayed inside. He called me before he called a tow truck, which was the right move.

That came out without damage to the cylinder, which matters because a damaged ignition on a Boxster is a different conversation entirely. Once the cylinder was clear, I decoded the cut from the door lock and cut a new blade to match on the spot.
Tested it in the door first, then the ignition. Smooth both ways.
He asked what the dealer would have run him. I told him to call if he ever wanted to know, but that what he paid me was a fraction of that. He laughed and said he wished he had called before the key got to the snapping point. Most people do.
