A personal trainer near Centerpoint Mall in Oxnard called me at 4:45 in the morning. He had a 5am session to open and one key to his 2015 Porsche Boxster. That one key had finally cracked right at the nose of the car-shaped housing where the seam is thinnest.
The antenna board inside had separated from the battery contacts. Fob was completely dead. No remote lock, no proximity start, nothing. He was standing in the parking lot holding two halves of a Porsche key.
I got there and pulled the broken fob apart on my tailgate. The KESSY transponder chip was still intact even though the antenna circuit was shot. I used my VVDI Key Tool to read the Hitag Pro chip data directly off the old board. Because that data was still clean, I didn't need to pull the KESSY module from behind his dash or do a bench read on the 95320 EEPROM. That alone saved hours.
I cloned the chip data to a fresh board, rebuilt everything into a new car-shaped shell with a new CR2032, and cut the emergency HU162T blade to match. He watched me test proximity unlock on both doors, trunk release, and push-button start.
He made his 5am session. Brought the broken pieces with him in a zip bag like I told him to on the phone. That habit of keeping the dead fob is what kept this from becoming a full all-keys-lost job.
