Over in Oxnard, near the Esplanade Shopping Center, a guy flagged me down on a call I almost didn't take same-day. Trail runner. He'd lost his only key somewhere on a canyon trail outside town, backtracked over a mile, asked other runners, checked every switchback. Nothing.

Connected through the OBD port, read the immobilizer data off the KESSY module, pulled the PIN and calculated the security codes. His key was the standard 981 smart fob, three buttons, with the flip-out emergency blade built into the housing. I cut the HU66 blade to his lock and programmed the new fob right there in the lot.
Then I made him a spare. Because one key on a Porsche is just asking to be back in the same spot six months from now.
His car started on the first press. He sat in the driver's seat for a second like he wasn't sure he trusted it. I get that a lot.
The dealer route would have meant a flatbed from a trailhead no tow truck was reaching quickly, then days waiting on a key ordered through Porsche AG. He drove home instead.
