Got a call from the Oxnard College area late one evening. A visiting professor at a rental house, in town for the semester, locked out of her 2018 Golf with one dead key and no spare. She stood there watching the dash, half expecting it to throw a fault. It did not. She drove to campus the next morning with two working keys in her bag. The whole thing cost her a fraction of what the dealer quoted, and she never left the driveway.
