2022 Honda Odyssey Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A woman from Cardiff-by-the-Sea called me on a Tuesday morning. She needed a spare key for her 2022 Honda Odyssey. Simple enough job on paper. But before she called, she'd done her homework.
She told me she'd had a bad experience with a locksmith the year before. No company name on the van, no working phone number on the receipt a week later, and when she went to look up the license number he'd scribbled on the paperwork, it didn't come back to any registered business. The job had worked out, but the experience stuck with her.
This time she looked up my BSIS license number before she dialed. She told me that upfront, and honestly I respect it. You should do that with any locksmith you hire in California. The BSIS database is public and it takes about thirty seconds.
I was already in the area that morning. She met me in her driveway with her original fob and the Odyssey sitting right there. I programmed a second fob to the vehicle on site, confirmed both fobs were communicating with the vehicle's security system, tested the sliding door buttons, verified the emergency insert blade seated correctly in the new fob, and handed it to her.
She asked about the dealer. I told her what the dealer typically wants for the same job. She'd already gotten a rough phone quote from them and knew the number. I didn't need to say much else.
Real receipt. Real license number. Real company name on the van parked in front of her house. She said that alone made the call worth it. I hear that more than you'd think.
