2010 Buick Enclave Transponder Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

Out on the Eastside, a guy flagged me down in his driveway off Milpas. He had a 2010 Enclave that would crank fine but die immediately after. He'd already replaced the fob battery twice. Thought maybe the fob was defective. He had the fob in his hand, clicking away at it while we talked, like that was going to help.

The fob not working has nothing to do with why the engine won't stay running. Those two things don't talk to each other the way people assume. I decoded his lock, cut a new key blade to match, then connected to the OBD port and walked through the programming sequence to register the new transponder with the vehicle. Waited through the security timer. Then the test: three clean start cycles, key in, key out, walk away, come back, start again.

It fired and stayed running. That's the part that settled him down.

He asked what the dealer had quoted him. I told him to call them and compare. He said he already had, and that's why he called me first.
