Near the Borderline Bar and Grill memorial in Thousand Oaks, a woman flagged me down in a physical therapy parking lot. Not literally flagged, she had called ahead, but she was standing outside her 2013 Buick LaCrosse like she was guarding it.
She told me she had already called two locksmiths. One never showed. The other quoted a number, then called back with a higher one and couldn't explain what a BCM was or why it mattered. Her LaCrosse uses the OHT01060512 five-button remote flip key, GM part 13504202. I pulled factory security data through my NASTF access, the same database the dealer's service desk uses for immobilizer codes and key cutting info. Cut the blade, programmed the fob through the OBD port using the proper PAS security path on her BCM, tested all five buttons plus the transponder start.
She watched the whole thing from about two feet away. When the engine turned over on the new key, she just nodded once, like she'd been waiting for proof.
