Guy called me from a parking structure in Downtown Oxnard after hours. His only key for his 2000 Deville was gone. He had checked pockets, the car floor, the elevator lobby, under the seats. Nothing. He was already looking up tow trucks to get the car somewhere safe overnight.

You put the new key in, cycle it, and then wait through three 10-minute security relearn timers. That is just how PK3 works. No shortcut. I told him up front it would be about 30 to 35 minutes of the car sitting there doing its thing, and he was fine with it. Better than a tow and a closed dealership.
He watched the security light go from solid to off on that last cycle, turned the key, and the Northstar fired right up.
He drove home that night. The dealer would have meant a tow plus a wait until morning plus a bill that would have been way more than what I charged. The VIN is the single most useful thing you can give me. Text it before I arrive and the job starts faster.
