Got a call from a guy over in the Samarkand neighborhood in Santa Barbara. He had just walked out of his cardiologist's office, cleared to drive again, and his 2001 Cadillac Seville was sitting in the lot doing nothing. Key turned, engine cranked, but it would cough and die every time. The DIC was showing "THEFT SYSTEM" right there on the dash.

Cut a new B99 blank, seated a fresh ID 13 chip, and ran the key learn through the DIC using the existing key's 10-minute relearn procedure. Two learn cycles, 20 minutes of waiting while the security light blinked, then a clean start.
He just sat in the driver's seat with the engine running and didn't move for a second. Like he needed to hear it idle before he believed it.
The dealer up the road wouldn't have seen him until the next afternoon. He made it to the pharmacy with time to spare.
