I was parked near Surfers Point on a Tuesday when the call came in. Owner of a 2001 Chrysler Sebring, Ventura. She had the key in her hand, or what was left of it. The plastic head had cracked clean at the base and the blade had snapped when she tried to work it into the ignition. Having that chip data meant I could clone to a new the key blade blank, cut it to her door and ignition, and get her going without the longer procedure.
I cut two keys and got both programmed. Showed her the chip from the cracked original so she understood what we were working with and why I asked her to save the pieces.
Forty-some minutes start to finish. She mentioned the dealer had been in the back of her mind as a backup, and she had been dreading that call. She didn't have to make it.
