2007 Chrysler Sebring Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A guy at the RV storage area near Channel Islands Harbor in Oxnard called me about his 2007 Sebring. The car had been sitting for months while he was out of state, and now his only FOBIK was doing nothing. No lock, no unlock, no remote start. He turned the key slot and the dash just gave him the red Security light, solid, not flashing.
He had already found one of my Chrysler FOBIK videos on YouTube before any of this happened. Saved my number back then. Said he liked seeing the actual process on a real car, not some animation.
I got to his spot and checked the old FOBIK first. CR2032 was completely dead, which killed the remote buttons, but that alone shouldn't stop the car from starting. The WIN module should still pick up the passive RFID signal. Swapped the battery and held the FOBIK right against the ignition receiver ring. Nothing. The FOBIK's internal board had corroded from sitting in a humid storage unit.
Cut a new Y160 blade on my Triton, programmed a fresh OHT692427AA to the WIN using the 4-digit PIN pulled through OBD, and tested every button: lock, unlock, trunk, panic, remote start, all six. Three clean start cycles. Checked the range from the storage gate, about forty feet out, solid response.
He stood there watching the whole thing from the hood of the car, same way he watched it on the channel. Just quieter in person.
