She was at a brewery patio near The Collection at RiverPark in Oxnard, first date, and her purse vanished off the bench. Car keys, wallet, phone. She borrowed the bartender's phone and called the police first, then her roommate, then me.
Her 2006 Chrysler Sebring was sitting in the lot with zero keys. The dealer told her roommate they could order a replacement but it would take three to five business days. They also said the car would need a tow in, and they recommended rekeying the door cylinder since the stolen key could still physically open it.
I got there that night. All-keys-lost on a SKIM car is a different animal than adding a spare. Adding a key means the car already trusts one and just extends the list. AKL means I wipe the entire key memory in the SKIM and start clean so the stolen key is dead to the immobilizer. I pulled the four-digit PIN from the SKIM module with my IM608, cleared old key data, and programmed two fresh Y160-PT transponder keys from scratch.
Decoded the lock cylinder, cut both blades on my Condor, and tested ignition start on each one. She was watching me work under the parking lot lights like she was making sure I was real.
She drove home that night. The stolen key can still turn the door lock, but the SKIM will never let it fire the engine again.
