2024 GMC Canyon Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A coach over near the College area of Ventura called me about his 2024 Canyon. He was loading gear for practice when the truck just sat there -- push-button did nothing, dash threw a key-not-detected warning, and he had no backup fob. He'd only had the truck a few months and figured it had to be a dealer problem.
He asked me the same question I hear a lot before I start: what happens if this stops working in a month? He had kids and equipment depending on this truck and didn't want a situation where he's stranded and I'm unreachable.
I told him what I always tell people. I stand behind the work. The programming, the fob pairing, the cut -- if something fails that's on my end, I come back. No fee, no argument, same van, same technician.
I pulled up to the fields, ran diagnostics through the OBD port, and confirmed the issue was a lost pairing, not a hardware failure on the truck's end. I programmed a new fob to the vehicle, tested start, lock, unlock, and range, then let the key sit idle for a few minutes and tested again. Intermittent pairing issues on proximity systems sometimes only show up after a brief rest period. Everything held.
He asked what the dealer had quoted when he called them first. It was a lot more than what he paid me. And they wanted the truck in the bay, which would have meant a tow and a day without it. He drove to practice instead.
