I got a call from a rideshare driver parked near the coin laundry off Hollywood Beach. He'd already been through it once.
He'd called one of those $49-ad locksmiths. The guy showed up, charged him way more than quoted, and left him with a key that would start the car but had completely dead remote buttons. I ran the full programming sequence on the factory remote head key using my key programming tool, cleared the incomplete enrollment, and brought it back fully. All three buttons working, clean start, doors responding properly. I quoted him a number on the phone and that's what he paid, nothing extra.
He mentioned the dealer had already quoted him significantly more than I charged just to look at it, not counting parts. The other locksmith had charged more than both of us and left the job half done. He said the worst part wasn't the money, it was losing the time.
