I got a call from a guy in the Mountain Meadows area of Moorpark. He was at a self-storage facility off the main road, mid-afternoon, trying to wrap up a downsizing project.
His 2010 Honda Fit remote head key had been getting flaky for a few weeks, and that day it stopped cooperating entirely. He told me he had been watching my YouTube channel for a while, saw me do a Honda key job, and saved my number for when the day came. That day had arrived.

I swapped in a proper CR1616, seated it right, and the remote came back to life immediately. Tested every button, checked the range from across the lot, cycled the lock and unlock twice. That was it. No programming, no parts, no drama. The whole thing took about ten minutes.
He was set up to spend a lot more than he needed to. He told me the dealer had mentioned a full replacement and programming when he called them. I just fixed what was actually broken, on site, in a parking lot in Moorpark. That is the job most of the time.
