Out in the Silver Strand neighborhood in Oxnard, a photographer had a 2016 Honda Fit EX sitting in a canyon overlook lot with zero keys. Push-to-start, all keys lost. No physical key slot to fall back on. The car might as well have been a paperweight.

I drove out to the overlook. All-keys-lost on the 2016 Fit's proximity system is more involved than a standard transponder add. The IMMO module on these third-gen Fits needs its old key data cleared before new fobs can register. I used my ACDP to pull a backup of the immobilizer data from the 38384-T5A board first, which is the safe way to handle it if anything hiccups during the reset. Then I ran the AKL procedure through OBD, registered his new KR5V1X 3-button proximity fob, and cut the emergency insert blade that lives inside the fob housing.
He sat on a camp chair watching his car start in a gravel lot with no cell service and no dealer for 30 miles. No tow truck. No week-long wait.
He kept saying he didn't think it could all happen right there. It can.
