I was working a call in Waverly Heights, Thousand Oaks, on a 2013 Infiniti G37. The owner had already replaced the fob battery twice in three months. A shop told him the fob was fine. Another told him it was probably the antenna ring around the ignition button. He was going in circles.

The contact was making connection but not consistently under vibration or temperature change. I corrected the clip, seated a new CR2032 flat, and closed the case the right way.
Then I did the full walkthrough: lock, unlock, all four buttons, push-button start cold, push-button start after a short sit, touch unlock on both door handles. Seven clean cycles with no hesitation.
He looked at me like I was about to hand him a bill for replacing the whole system. I told him what I found. He laughed a little and said the two shops before me never actually opened the fob.
That's the thing about this job. Sometimes the fix is small. But you have to know what you're looking at to find it, and you have to actually look.
