2002 Mazda MPV
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

2002 Mazda MPV Metal Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

Hollywood Beach on a Tuesday afternoon. The kind of day where the marine layer burns off by noon and the parking strip along the water fills up fast.

A guy had been out walking the shore and came back to his 2002 Mazda MPV with nothing. Key was gone. He figured it went into the sand somewhere between the lot and the waterline. He checked his pockets twice, retraced his steps, came up empty. He called a tow company first. They told him they could drag it to a dealer but could not guarantee a same-day appointment. That is when he called me.

I drove out, set up on the driver side, and worked the door lock to get him in. While I had the lock decoded, I captured every cut position I needed. From those depth readings, I cut a new key blade right there in the lot. Slid it in, turned it, and his MPV started without a second thought.

He had been bracing for a tow bill on top of a dealer visit. Instead his van was running before the afternoon crowd started filling the lot. Getting a spare cut before you lose the only one is always the smarter move, but when you are already stuck, mobile beats the alternative by a wide margin.
