Out in the Lynn Ranch neighborhood in Thousand Oaks, a guy's only smart key to his 2011 370Z was gone. Lost somewhere between a boat dock and the parking area at the lake. He searched, asked around, nothing. His Z was sitting there and he figured it was stuck until Monday when the dealer could see him.

I used my NSN14 Lishi tool to pick and decode the driver's door lock. It reads each wafer position so I can cut an emergency insert blade that matches exactly, no original needed. Once I had mechanical access and the car open, I connected through the OBD-II port and ran the NATS5 all-keys-lost procedure. That wipes any previously registered key IDs from the BCM so the missing fob is dead to the car. Then I registered the new KR55WK48903 as primary.

Cut, programmed, tested. Push button start fired right up in the same lot.

I made him a spare too, because one-key-only is exactly how people end up in this situation twice. He had that look, half relieved and half annoyed it was that simple. The dealer had quoted him a tow plus a Monday morning appointment plus a price that made him wince. He drove home instead.
