Near the Botanic Garden Area in Thousand Oaks, a guy called me about his 2011 370Z sitting in a parking lot with no key. Not a dead fob. No key at all. That sequence erases any previously registered fobs from the system and registers the new one as the primary key. I cut the blade, programmed the fob, and tested every function before I packed up. Then I made him a spare, right there, so he wasn't in the same position a year from now.
The car started in the same lot he had been stranded in. He mentioned the dealer had quoted him a tow plus the Monday appointment plus whatever programming would cost. He ended up paying a fraction of that, same afternoon, without moving the car once.
