2007 Scion TC Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Over in the South Bank neighborhood of Oxnard, a guy had been fighting his 2007 Scion TC ignition for weeks. Some mornings the key turned fine. Some mornings he sat in the parking lot near the gym working it back and forth for five minutes, jiggling and praying.
The dealer told him he needed a complete ignition assembly, new keys, and a full reprogram. He was about to book it when a friend mentioned me.
I checked the cylinder first. The issue was worn wafers inside the TOY43 lock, not a failed assembly. Before I touched anything mechanical, I connected my ACDP to the OBD port and backed up the immobilizer data from the 93C56 EEPROM on the immo box. That way if anything went sideways during the rebuild, I had the original transponder registration safe.
Then I decoded the lock, pulled the worn wafers, and replaced them. Cut a fresh TOY43 blade on the new MOZB41TG remote head key and synced the 4D-67 chip through OBD. Quick remote program after that: lock, unlock, panic, all three buttons confirmed.
I showed him the old wafers side by side with the new ones so he could actually see the wear. One was basically a nub.
The ignition turns smooth now. He kept the whole thing for a fraction of what the dealer wanted, and he didn't have to leave his car anywhere for two days while they ordered parts.
