Over in Hollywood Beach in Oxnard, a guy staying at a hostel called me mid-evening. Road trip, one smart key, and the push-to-start just went dead on him. He was pressing the button with the fob in his pocket and getting nothing. No dash lights, no crank, just "Key not detected" sitting there on the instrument cluster.

I set up a new fob on the hood of the van. Blade cut on the Condor XC-Mini, then paired the DST+ transponder through OBD using VVDI Key Tool. The whole 128-bit registration took about 25 minutes because the immobilizer ECU on these runs a timed handshake.
He watched the whole thing, mostly just relieved he wasn't sleeping in a hostel parking lot waiting for a tow truck.
