A tenant at a gated complex near The Collection at RiverPark in Oxnard called me around 8 PM because his 2016 Scion TC was stuck inside the gates with no working key. He had already tried a tow company, but the flatbed couldn't get through the gate without a code, and property management was closed for the night. Dead end.

His key was the HYQ14ACX smart fob, 3-button, with the TOY43 emergency insert blade. I pulled immobilizer data through OBD using my VVDI2, confirmed the H-chip protocol on the 89040 series transponder board, and registered a new proximity key to the system. Cut the blade on the machine in my van, tested push-button start, tested lock and unlock from outside, checked the range from about 15 feet back.
The whole thing happened in his parking spot. His TC never moved an inch.
He had been looking at having the car towed to a dealer the next morning, which would have meant a tow bill on top of the key cost and probably half a day waiting. Instead he drove to dinner. I packed up and left through the same gate I came in.
