People lose all their Toyota keys more often than you would guess. Most common story is simple. They bought the car used with one key, always meant to get a spare, and years later that one key finally gives out.

A woman over by Village at the Park in Camarillo had her only key to her 2014 Matrix crack right at the housing, and the blade snapped clean off inside the door lock. Half stuck in the cylinder, the fob shell in her other hand. Zero working keys, car she could not open.

I decoded her lock wafers, cut two fresh TOY43 blades, and rebuilt the remote into a new HYQ12BEL shell with the original chip and circuit board. Synced the remote buttons, tested lock, unlock, trunk, and panic on all four buttons. She went from zero working keys to two in about 40 minutes.

She was quiet for a second, then just said, "I thought the car was done." It was not done. The chip inside a cracked fob is almost always fine, and having those broken pieces makes the whole job faster.
