Got a call from a dentist's office near Rincon Point in Carpinteria. She had a 2001 Volkswagen Passat and wanted a spare flip key made. Cut the HU66 blade on site, cloned the ID48 chip, programmed the remote side of the NBG8137T fob, and tested all four buttons: lock, unlock, trunk, and panic. Then I started it, shut it off, started it again, because on these Immo3 cars, the second start is the real confirmation that the transponder handshake is solid.
She watched the whole thing from about three feet away. When it fired the second time, she just nodded and said she appreciated knowing exactly what was happening.
Dealer would have taken longer and cost a good chunk more. She already knew that before she called.
