Out near Lake Casitas Recreation Area in Ojai, a bartender's night ended badly. Someone grabbed her bag during closing. Keys, wallet, phone, all of it gone. She borrowed a coworker's phone, called the police, then her roommate, then me.
Her 2013 Volkswagen Passat was sitting in the lot with zero keys. Her roommate had already called the VW dealer. Their answer: order a key blank, wait three to five business days, tow the car in, reprogram through ODIS, and rekey the lock cylinders. Multi-day process.
I got there that same night. All-keys-lost after a theft is not the same job as making a spare. The stolen flip key had a live Megamos 48 transponder still registered to her BCM. If the thief walked up and turned the ignition, the engine would fire. So I used my IM608 to pull the immobilizer login on the 3C0-prefix BCM, wipe every stored key from memory, and program two fresh NBG010180T remotes from scratch. Decoded her HU66 lock with my Lishi, cut both emergency blades on site.
She watched most of it from the curb, arms crossed, still running on adrenaline. When I handed her two working keys and she heard the Passat start clean, she just exhaled and said "okay." That was it.
She drove home that night. The stolen key is dead to that car.
