Then waited five minutes with the key sitting still, because intermittent ID48 auth failures sometimes only show up after the chip goes idle and has to re-handshake on the next crank.
Everything held. He pocketed the key, grabbed his whistle, and jogged toward the field. He didn't ask about the dealer. He just needed it done before kickoff.
