Got a call from someone out near Rose Valley Campground in Ojai. She had a 2018 Volkswagen Passat sitting in the lot with zero keys. Event planner, wrapping up an evening at one of the wineries nearby, and the fob just vanished. Purse, pockets, under seats, nothing. I drove out and got set up on the hood. All-keys-lost on the MQB Passat means pulling IMMO data from the BCM2 through the OBD port. I used my ACDP module to back up the NEC+24C64 chip data first, then ran AKL through the IM608. The old fob data gets wiped so whatever key she lost can never start that car again.
Her replacement was the NBGFS93N, five-button remote flip key, Megamos AES transponder inside. Cut the blade to her door, programmed the fob to the car, tested lock, unlock, trunk, panic, and the remote start button. Then cranked the engine.
She just stood there watching the dash like it might change its mind.
The whole job took about 40 minutes in a dark parking lot with a headlamp. A VW dealer would have meant a tow and a wait, probably a week or more. She drove home that night instead.
