I extract the broken piece from the cylinder, then transfer your existing key electronics into a new shell and cut a replacement blade to match your vehicle. As long as the electronics come over intact, the car reads everything the same way it did before. I've seen owners try super glue or epoxy on a cracked flip key pivot. It buys maybe a week before the same failure happens again. A proper shell swap is the right call.
